Pèlerinage d'octobre

Le week-end le plus proche du 22 Octobre est la fête Marie Salomé, mère de Saint Jacques de Compostelle. C'est alors l'occasion pour la population locale en costume traditionnel de se retrouver autour des reliques et d'accompagner la barque des deux Maries en procession à la mer.

Depuis le XIIème siècle, les Saintes Maries sont un lieu de pèlerinages. Les reliques des Saintes découvertes en 1448 lors de fouilles ordonnées par le Roi René sont particulièrement vénérées durant deux pèlerinages.

Pèlerinage des gens du pays, il devient de plus en plus fréquenté. Le samedi soir, l'Évocation de l'Arrivée des Saintes, un sons et lumières sur la plage, gratuit, attire la foule des fidèles et des spectateurs de la région.

15h30 : Cérémonie de la descente des Châsses dans l’église
18h00 : Messe
21h00 : Adoration / veillée de prière

Dimanche
10h00 : Messe solennelle
11h00 : Procession de la barque et Bénédiction à la Mer
15h30 : Cérémonie de la remontée des Châsses dans l’église
